Authentication
How verification works
The authenticity card
Every genuine SPADE_CLO garment ships with a printed card. The back carries a QR code unique to that garment, its serial number, and a scratch-off panel concealing a one-time activation code.
What scanning proves
The QR code opens the garment's individual record and shows its status. A recognised record means the code was issued by SPADE_CLO.
QR codes are public by design and can be photographed and reprinted. A scan alone therefore cannot prove that a particular physical garment is genuine. We will never present it as if it does.
What registration proves
The activation code is generated at random for each garment, printed only under the scratch panel and stored by SPADE_CLO only in a protected, one-way form. It can be used once. When it is used, the garment is registered to that account and the code stops working.
If a record shows as registered but you have an unscratched card for it, contact us. That is exactly the kind of pattern we investigate.
Not registered = not verified
Every public record shows how many times it has been verified, since when, and how many countries it has been seen in recently. A garment sold as new whose record has been scanned hundreds of times, or in several countries, has almost certainly had its QR code copied.
Records showing those patterns, or repeated attempts to register an already-registered garment, are flagged for review automatically.
Statuses
Unclaimed — a genuine record awaiting its first owner.
Registered — the record has been registered to a SPADE_CLO account. Owner details are never shown publicly.
Under review — activity on the record needs additional verification.
Revoked — SPADE_CLO has withdrawn the record.
Not recognised — the code does not match any SPADE_CLO record.
Your transfer passphrase
When you register a garment you set a passphrase for it. SPADE_CLO keeps it only in a protected, one-way form. It's needed to transfer the garment, so a registration can't be moved without you, even by someone who gets into your account.
Forgotten it? Contact support. We verify your identity before resetting it.
Buying and selling second-hand
Sellers open the garment in My Collection, enter their transfer passphrase and receive a one-time transfer code (valid for 48 hours). Buyers scan the QR code, choose “Received a transfer code?”, enter it and set their own passphrase. Ownership moves instantly.
Buyers: only pay once the transfer has gone through and the garment appears in your collection. A seller who can't transfer it doesn't own the registration.
